Who you are:
As a Derivatives Specialist with Frost, you are our subject matter expert. In this role, you are responsible for administering the bank's foreign exchange, interest rate, and commodity hedging product groups. Your goal is to limit risk on behalf of both the bank and its customers. You will use your effective communication skills to interact with customers and work with Frost lines of business to give guidance and present customized opportunities. Our Derivatives Specialists believe in efficiency and strive to go above and beyond with integrity, caring and excellence in mind.
What you'll do:
  • Join a team responsible for administering the bank's foreign exchange, interest rate, and commodity hedging product groups with the goal of limiting risk on behalf of both the bank and its customers
  • Monitor and maintain foreign currency account positions within the given foreign exchange policy, executing and capturing foreign exchange and derivative transactions
  • Interact with customers to evaluate and present customized interest rate, commodity, and foreign exchange hedging opportunities
  • Work with Relationship Managers, Sales Managers, Credit Officers, and back office personnel to give guidance on loan pricing, coordinate documentation, track sales opportunities, and respond to ad-hoc queries
  • Attend periodic regional sales meetings to provide market commentary and further develop relationships with Sales Managers and Relationship Managers
  • Works closely with Derivatives Analyst I and II to further teach and convey basic derivative principles and explain derivatives and foreign exchange systems
  • Always take action using Integrity, Caring, and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomes

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics; or a related technical field
  • 5+ years commercial lending or derivatives experience
  • Experience with Bloomberg
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to explain complex financial transactions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Preferred Skills:
  • Master's degree
  • Understanding of the interest rate, commodity (energy), and currency derivatives markets
  • CFA charterholder
