Job Description

MPIE is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for the Valve Department. The Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining valve inventory and processing valve orders for shipment. Make changes and adjustments to valves as needed.  Operate valve test machines, forklifts, cranes and packaging equipment. Perform in person valve tests with customers as required.
Hourly Pay Range: $22 - $23
Location:  Exeter, CA

Qualifications
  • 1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of co-workers. 
  • Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. 
  • Wear appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection. 
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area as well as maintaining a safe and clean work environment.  
  • Proactively promotes the McWane Way principles.  
  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Waterman Safety Management Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
  • Identify requirements for each valve order.
  • Operate forklift to move valves inside/outside the plant.
  • Rework valves to meet customer requirements.
  • The operator will be proficient with quality and able to meet prescribed production output objectives for the work center.
  • Paint and package finished product.
  • Manage inventory locations and product packaging.
  • Good with basic math, able to read a tape measure and micrometer
  • Ability to understand machinery processes.
  • Be able to print, read, understand, and complete work orders in D365.
  • Will be required to cross train in the pipe department.
  • Consistent attendance, ability to get to work on time, every day.
  • Team player, willingness to work when needed, assist across a variety of different machines.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and helpful

Work Environment: 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. 
  • The team member is required to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.   
  • Must be able to meet and adhere physical requirements as well as adhere to wearing the appropriate PPE (steel toed boots, safety glasses and hearing protection)
  • Must be able to work in dust and fumes with required PPE. 
  • Will be required to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Must have knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus and determine and distinguish color. 
  • Must have the ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification.
