Job Title: Java Developer with AWS & Terraform

Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)
Experience: 10+ years

Job Summary

Value Technology is seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong AWS and Terraform expertise to design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Java development, microservices architecture, AWS cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
  • Build and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Create reusable Terraform modules and automate infrastructure provisioning.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS DevOps tools.
  • Work closely with DevOps, Architecture, and QA teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions using CloudWatch, ELK, Splunk, or Prometheus.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and participate in sprint ceremonies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Java application development.
  • Strong experience in Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including:
    • EC2
    • S3
    • Lambda
    • ECS/EKS
    • RDS
    • API Gateway
    • CloudWatch
    • IAM
    • SNS/SQS
    • DynamoDB
  • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture, and design patterns.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certifications (AWS Developer Associate, AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional).
  • Experience with serverless architecture and event-driven systems.
  • Experience with Kafka or other messaging platforms.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, IAM policies, and cloud governance.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
