Job description

Position Summary:-

TechCorr is seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to mobilize to its office in Findlay, OH for an active project located in Lima, OH. Operating on a 6x10 work schedule, the inspector is responsible for monitoring shop and field welding processes, evaluating weld quality, verifying procedural documentation, and ensuring total compliance with applicable codes and client standards.

Responsibilities:-
  • Perform visual and technical welding inspections in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Review and verify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), P&IDs, fabrication drawings, and quality documentation.
  • Monitor day-to-day welding, assembly, and fabrication activities to ensure code and project compliance.
  • Identify, document, and track non-conformances, weld defects, or process discrepancies.
  • Issue accurate, detailed daily inspection reports and maintain complete quality records.
  • Coordinate closely with client and project management teams to meet safety, quality, and project schedule targets.
QualificationsRequirements:-
  • Active Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential.
  • Strong technical knowledge of welding processes, joint design, metallurgy, codes, and industrial standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and verify WPS, P&IDs, engineering drawings, and quality specifications.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently or in team environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS-CWI certification preferred.
  • Additional NDE certifications (MT, PT, RT, UT, or PMI).
  • Previous inspection experience within refinery, petrochemical, or power generation sectors.
  • Familiarity with industrial QA/QC management programs and documentation workflows.
