Department Summary:

The Cell Manager will oversee daily production processes associated with machining composite, metal, ceramic and hybrid parts and tooling. The position requires considerable skill in workflow planning and the coordination of multiple projects to achieve maximum efficiency. Strong people management skills and ability to communicate across multiple organizational boundaries and disciplines are critical. Cell Manager is responsible for management of up to 25 personnel on multiple shifts.

The incumbent shall maintain a positive attitude that leads by example and emphasizes goals and expectations utilizing a variety of management techniques such as positive reinforcement and constructive criticism.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning, ability to schedule and focus on productivity
  • Ability to direct and lead a team of employees
  • Interface and work with Project Teams to support scheduling requirements and priorities
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements to provide information for management decisions
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow. Ensures adequate resources are available to complete assigned tasks
  • Identifies areas for improvement among cell members and implements cross training accordingly to create a more capable and homogenous team
  • Ensures the processes and procedures are executed in accordance with project management guidelines
  • Works with Project Managers and Process Engineers to identify and mitigate risk in the production process
  • Performs on the job training, AS9100, Nadcap training and other training as required
  • Takes responsibility for maintaining tool inventory and availability within the cell and ensures accountability from individual employees
  • Ensures WO’s and proper quantities of materials, components, and tools are available after a project begins
  • Prepares and provides reports for operations management as directed
  • Verifies previous cell’s documentation is complete after moving forward
  • Ensures documentation of processes accomplished by work cell is complete, accurate, and timely including recording NCMR, part tagging and routing
  • Audits and reviews work packets with the techs after and during each activity
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Behavior: The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
  • Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of your job

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must have 3-5 years specialized training after high school or equivalent on-the-job training particular to job description
  • Must have 1-3 years related job experience
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic machining experience including cutter identification, feeds and speeds and maintenance.
  • Must be familiar with a variety of the fields' concepts, practices and procedures
  • Must be able to rely on extensive experience, problem-solving skills and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Must have good communication and teambuilding skills.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products, SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

  • Technical or College degree preferred.

Detailed Wage Information

Wage range for this role is between $35 - $50 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
