Job description

Salary: $58,000–$64,000 
Bonus: $500 after 90 days (based on performance) 

Alliance Center for Education is seeking a Center Director to lead the daily operations of an Early Head/Head Start/ NCPK classroom, in collaboration with Charlotte Bilingual classrooms. This on-site role reports to the Associate Early Childhood Education Director of Center Operations and plays a critical leadership role supporting children, families, and staff. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee daily center operations to ensure full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, NC Child Care Licensing, and other applicable regulations 

  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate teaching staff, teacher assistants, and support staff, including Nutrition, Transportation, and Family Engagement personnel 

  • Monitor classrooms to ensure high-quality implementation of curriculum, child outcomes, and developmentally appropriate practices 

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, administration, and facility requirements 

  • Implement and utilize ITERS and ECERS Environmental Rating Scales to support continuous quality improvement 

  • Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with staff, families, and community partners 

  • Provide instructional and operational support to classrooms in a fast-paced environment as needed 

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of NC Pre-K (NCPK) requirements and expectations 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Business Administration, Management, or related field 

  • Level III NC Early Childhood Administrator Credential (required) 

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience 

  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards 

  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills 

  • Valid driver’s license
