About the Position:
We're looking for a Regional Property and Casualty Leader to join our East Central team, inclusive of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and western Pennsylvania. Ideal candidates will be responsible for working with the leadership in the region to profitably grow the commercial P&C business through support of new business acquisition and client retention, talent acquisition, onboarding and management of the commercial P&C account teams in East Central and development and maintenance of broking/account service best practices in coordination with counterparts in other regions and the national practice/vertical leadership. This role requires a strong understanding of all lines of commercial P&C coverage, effective direct and influence-based leadership, teamwork, servant-leader attitude, and excellent communication skills.
This is a hybrid position with working-from-home flexibility 2-3 days a week after the initial 30-day training period.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Responsibilities: Work with the Central Region Property & Casualty Leader, regional sales enablement leaders, and national practice/vertical leaders to develop and maintain a profitable P&C growth strategy for East Central.
  • Working with the Central Region P&C Leader, assist in the establishment of the annual P&L budget and support achievement of annual results.
  • Working with SVP, Property Casualty, and other Regional P&C Market Leaders and Portfolio/Broking Leaders, develop and implement broking and service standards, the operating model for those standards, and the respective KPIs for commercial P&C business in the region.
  • Provide strategic guidance and tactical support (when necessary) to Account Executives in the region.
  • Partner with the local Producers on strategy and service needs that will support their growth goals.
  • Attract, recruit, onboard, and train talent in the region focused on P&C commercial business.
  • Lead Account Management leaders in the state to effectively deliver NFP services to clients.
  • Collaborate with other region-based P&C leaders on national standards, client delivery needs, and carrier relationships for each P&C commercial segment (Risk Management, Middle Market, and Small Business).
  • Ensure that effective control mechanisms are in place to avoid and control exposure to errors & omissions.

New Business:
  • Collaborating with the Regional President, Sales Enablement Leaders, Producers, and national practice/vertical leaders, assist in the development of a regional new business strategy with an emphasis on vertical and segment implementation based on the region's market and competitive characteristics.
  • Working with the Producers and Sales Enablement Leaders, to develop and support new business strategy and its execution.
  • Develop and lead the Account Management leadership team in supporting new business strategies and execution.
  • Broking/Account Management: Working with the national practice/vertical leaders to establish broking coordination and support strategies in the region by segment.
  • Working with national practice/vertical teams, establish both account service standards and a portfolio management strategy and be responsible for their execution in the region by segment.
  • Overall responsibility for the establishment, documentation, and execution of account service expectations with clients by segment.
  • Oversee the hiring, performance evaluation, compensation, and career development of Account Management teams in the state.
  • Provide feedback/input to the SVP, Property Casualty on the performance of practice/vertical practices engaged in the region.
  • Ensure client retention goals are met by segment. Cultivate strong, productive, trustful, and resilient multi-level relationships with carrier and wholesale partners and regional P&C team.
  • Working in conjunction with Carrier Management execute national and regional placement initiatives designed to enhance broking effectiveness and efficiency while generating incremental revenue and margin expansion. Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:
  • Broad knowledge of commercial property casualty coverage and market by segment including the admitted and non-admitted marketplace.
  • Ability to leverage technical resources where additional expertise is needed to execute a high standard of broking and account management delivery.
  • Ability to work with other cross-functional leaders nationally and within the region to develop and execute a commercial P&C strategy in the region.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence/inspire others to a common vision.
  • Emotional flexibility to identify potential conflict and execute reconciliation and resolution.
  • Behavior that emulates a "Leader-Servant" persona within the company.

Education:
BA/BS degree required. More than 12 years of commercial P&C broking, underwriting, or account management experience. Experience with the EPIC and/or Salesforce systems preferable. Certificates, Licenses, Registration P&C Insurance Broker license, required. Either a CPCU or ARM designation, preferable.

The base salary range for this position is $195,000 to $260,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
