Job description

Location: Diocese of Youngstown, Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown OH
In this job…
You will be responsible for cemetery ground maintenance
You will assist in cemetery operations including conducting burials
You will follow a work order process to respond to family request for upkeep
You will work individually and as part of team to provide a high standard of service to cemetery visitors

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Vocational degree preferred 
  • 3-5 years groundskeeping or landscaper experience
  • 2 - 4 years operating heavy equipment and using power tools
  • General ground and facility maintenance knowledge and skills
  • Ability to perform math calculations and measurements
  • Ability to conduct oneself with a “Family First” approach
  • History of working with others as part of a team
  • Valid state issued driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance

Additional physical requirements…
  • Lift or carry objects weighing between 100-150 lbs.
  • Push or pull up to 300 lbs. with a wheeled cart
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions

Additional Pre-Employment Requirements

  • At the time of formal offer, the hiring team will facilitate:
    • FBI/BCI fingerprint screening
    • Diocese of Youngstown Safe Environment Training (VIRTUS certificate)
    • Completion of Diocese of Youngstown Employment Application
