Systems Engineer III (Electronic)

Salary: $93,750-$125,000

The Systems Engineer III (Electronic) is responsible for developing advanced electronic control systems for connected consumer and industrial products. This position will also contribute to the development of IoT-enabled and connected device solutions that enhance product performance, functionality, and overall customer experience. As a key member of the engineering team, this role provides technical leadership in the design, integration, and validation of advanced control systems and technologies throughout the

What You'll Do
  • Define and develop advanced control architectures and system requirements for electronic and connected products.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance in controls engineering for product development teams.
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, methodologies, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and extend system architectures and electronic controller designs.
  • Develop design concepts, create models and prototypes, and conduct performance testing to evaluate feasibility and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with software, hardware, testing, and product development teams throughout the entire product lifecycle to ensure systems engineering deliverables are planned, documented, and completed.
  • Define and perform verification and validation activities supporting product development and launch readiness.
  • Support manufacturing engineering teams and suppliers through the development of test procedures, control specifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with customer support and training teams to provide product and controller training as needed.

What You Need
  • Innovative, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and creative thinking capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or a related discipline).
  • 5+ years of experience developing embedded microprocessor-based control systems.
  • Strong technical aptitude and systems-level thinking.
  • Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, business stakeholders, and external subject matter experts.
  • Experience architecting and developing electronic control systems for appliances, industrial equipment, HVAC systems, consumer products, or similar embedded applications.
  • Experience with requirements management, requirements traceability, and test case development and execution.
  • Experience with functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262) and/or product certification requirements (e.g., UL 60730, UL 60335, etc.).
  • Experience performing product- and component-level Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Experience supporting real-time embedded systems throughout the complete product lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of one or more communication technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular communications, Ethernet, and IoT frameworks.
  • Passion for developing innovative, customer-facing products and services.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant engineering and business applications.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in HVAC, water heating, appliance manufacturing, or other relevant industries.
