The ideal candidate will observe & monitor field work activities on a project to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, and checks lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using standard field measuring equipment.

Your Impact:

  • Observes and monitors field work activities on a project to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, and other contract documents
  • Checks lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using standard field measuring equipment
  • Observes highway work zones and traffic control setups and reports potential issues to supervisor.
  • Tests and/or samples materials
  • Documents daily work activities and pay items in Site Manager
  • Works under the direct supervision of a Field Project Engineer, Senior Inspector or Resident Engineer
  • Additional responsibilities as needed including working at night.

Who are you:

  • High School graduate with some state-required certification courses
  • 4+ years’ experience in inspection of roadway / bridge construction
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, calculating areas, volume, etc.
  • Ability to read road and bridge construction plans
  • Certifications: Level 1B Hot Mix, ACI concrete field testing
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience in documenting daily activities and pay items in Site Manager
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
