Job description

Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to workat least three days in the office, includingTuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to workup to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.

Acts as a project leader and carries out assignments requiring mastery of the technical aspects of electric and natural gas energy efficiency. Responsible for monitoring the technical rigor of energy efficiency programs and recommends plans for process improvements.

Essential Functions:

  • Displays a broad range of technical knowledge as an energy efficiency subject matter expert and applies knowledge to successfully implement programs/initiatives/strategies.
  • Coordinates with product development, energy consulting, sales, marketing, and planning teams to refine existing customer offerings and seek opportunities to expand and improve them.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to program teams. Trains internal and external market actors on energy efficiency technical strategies, processes, and techniques.
  • Executes the budgeting, invoicing, evaluation, and tracking of expenses of technical service contractors; leads the development of RFP's for contracted services.
  • Responsible for review and approval of complex projects/programs, which require an understanding of extensive engineering analysis/calculations, implementation strategy for new technologies, or energy simulation modeling.
  • Manages the development and coordination of calculation procedures and tools necessary to meet compliance with regulatory filings and oversight of rate-payer funds for Energy Efficiency programs. Provides draft testimony or testifies as assigned.
  • Leads the integration of strategic activities between the customer, program administrators, advisory consultants and vendor/contractors.
  • Represents Eversource in national energy efficiency conferences and/or stake holder events (e.g. ACEEE, ASHRAE, ACI, CEE, and state/regional R&D groups). Leads the evaluation of new technologies and other research and development activities.

Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Strong understanding of regulatory policy and process.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention-to-detail.
  • Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Education:

  • Baccalaureate degree in engineering
  • Advanced degree in engineering, business, marketing is desirable

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of eight (8) plus years of relevant experience in engineering or related technical role. Experience and/or aptitude in customer service also desired.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Engineer in Training (EIT), Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or accredited Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Professional is preferred.
