As a Field Service Specialist, you will provide specialized repair and maintenance services for diagnostic imaging (radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, etc.) and biomedical equipment, expanding on FSS I duties.
Daily, you will primarily repair and maintain intermediate imaging equipment (DR, basic CT/CT Sim, oncology, Vascular/Specials), leveraging training to reduce contract dependency. You will lead within Clinical Engineering, assisting FSS with imaging equipment repair, and manage service emergencies and communications with stakeholders. Your duties also include parts ordering, Account Manager coverage, identifying new service opportunities, analyzing cost histories for expense reduction, and supporting general biomedical equipment as needed.
Success in this role requires advanced technical expertise, strong leadership, exceptional problem-solving, a proactive approach to cost reduction/training, and commitment to precise, operational healthcare technology.

  • Specializes in intermediate imaging equipment repair and maintenance (60%+ of time)
  • Reduces contract dependency through training
  • Leads the CE department, overseeing and assisting FSS I
  • Manages service emergencies and vendor/department communication
  • Assists with ordering parts and supplies for imaging and biomedical equipment
  • Backfills CE Manager, provides service opportunity input, and analyzes service costs
  • Stays current on technology, medical advances, and regulatory standards

Required:

  • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering or related field, equivalent military education, graduate of technical program, or equivalent training validated through training certificates, or equivalent experience.  
  • A minimum of 5  years’ experience servicing technical equipment
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred:

  • CBET preferred

This position requires participation in a rotational on-call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be available to respond to urgent service needs outside of regular business hours and may be required to return to the facility on short notice.
