Job Description Healthcare Mechanical Engineer II Detroit, MI Grand Rapids, MI Make an Impact As a Healthcare Mechanical Engineer II, you will support our Health and Wellness team working on a variety of project types and sizes. You will have the opportunity to support plumbing, med-gas, and fire protection design as well as performing calculations, providing equipment selection, and supplying construction assistance for submittals and RFI's. This role will entail a high level of collaboration with other internal disciplines, external consultants, and clients or owner's representatives.

Deliver Results Prepare building models, detailed contract documents, construction documents, load analysis, equipment sizing, ductwork sizing, hydronic system design, plumbing design, fire suppression design, and specifications consistent with our standards. Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. Determine and promote the best use of design software/technology, including Revit, AutoCAD, BSD Speclink and other emerging technologies, for presentation and production purposes.

Coordinate technical components of projects with other internal disciplines and outside consultants to ensure that conflicts do not exist in the documents. Assist with engineering proposals and monitoring project budget and schedule. Required Qualifications Associate's degree in engineering, drafting, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of post-graduate mechanical engineering design experience, including a strong background with healthcare projects. Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license. Strong proficiency with Revit.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with current license.

Experience with acute care, surgery centers, or behavioral health projects. Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD), ASSE 6060 Designer, or CSI-CDT. LEED AP BD+C and WELL AP certification.

Membership at organizations such as American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE), Healthcare Engineering Alliance Society (HEALS), or similar and their local chapters. NCEES registration or NSPE membership. Experience in Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Teams.
