This role is ideal for those who prefer consistent schedules and minimal interaction with customers. It offers steady mileage and predictable home time compared to other trucking jobs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the CDL terminal to terminal driver position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a CDL Terminal To Terminal Driver, you need a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), a strong understanding of DOT regulations, and proven experience operating heavy trucks for long-haul or inter-terminal routes. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation, and freight tracking systems is typically required. Strong time management, attention to safety, and clear communication skills are essential for success. These qualifications ensure safe, efficient delivery between terminals and reliability within fast-moving logistics operations.

What does a typical work schedule look like for a CDL terminal to terminal driver?

A typical work schedule for a CDL Terminal To Terminal Driver often involves set routes between specific company terminals, with shifts that may include nights, weekends, or holidays depending on freight demands. Job description

Pay: $1,450–$1,575 per week
Freight: Dry van freight
Home Time: Weekly 34-hour reset
Location: Huntsville, AL 35801

• Established regional freight lanes
• Weekly 34-hour reset every week
• Average 1,800–2,400 miles per week
• Take your truck home or park at a terminal

Regional lane stability and dependable operational support give CDL-A truck drivers the opportunity to maintain steady weekly miles while working within an established regional network.

Regional Operation

Drivers operate primarily east of I-35 on established regional lanes that support dependable freight movement while avoiding many of the heavier Northeast traffic areas.

Dry van freight includes a combination of drop and hook and live unload, allowing drivers to average 1,800–2,400 miles each week while maintaining a consistent regional workload.

Pay & Home Time

Drivers earn $1,450–$1,575 per week, with additional compensation available through CPM pay along with detention, short-haul, breakdown, and stop-pay.

A 34-hour reset is provided every week, with opportunities to extend home time when scheduling allows.

Your Equipment

Modern dry van equipment supports regional operations, and drivers may take their truck home with approved parking or leave it at one of our terminal locations during home time. Flexible parking options help simplify the transition between work schedules and time at home.

Benefits

• Health insurance, life insurance, and 401(k)
• Rider and pet policies
• Fuel card

Hiring Requirements

Applicants must have a valid CDL-A (Class A) License, at least 12 months of tractor-trailer experience within the past three years, experience driving across three or more states, and a current DOT Medical Card.

Screening & Review Process

After we receive your information, our recruiting team will review your qualifications and contact drivers who meet the position requirements to discuss the opportunity and next steps. Every application is reviewed with fairness and respect throughout the hiring process.
