Position Summary:

Silver Eagles Helper position is a great opportunity to develop a career in beer while learning on the job. Helpers will assist our commercial drivers with delivering package & draft products to accounts on their assigned route and schedule. The position is a dedicated route truck helper position. This could be the first step in an impressive career path which can lead motivated individuals into sales leadership.

Job Duties

  • Assist sales representative driver with pre and post trip truck inspections.
  • Responsible for assisting the driver in counting inventory on the truck and when delivering to each account.
  • Drives along-side truck route, in personal vehicle, for entire route assisting with delivering products sold to each account.
  • Help with product deliveries by reviewing pick sheet for account, pulling proper products from bays, stacking products on a dolly and wheeling them into each account.
  • Properly stock, price, and rotate stock per code date policies. As required, build displays and install P.O.S.
  • Establish and maintain good customer service by ensuring account backrooms and shelves are left orderly and deliveries are made on time, while providing respectful courteous service to retailers, shoppers and all members of the public.
  • Assist driver with account transactions and end of day settlement procedures as required
  • Behaves ethically in all interactions employees, customers and members of the public, strictly adhering to our code of conduct. Must correct or immediately report to supervisor any unethical behavior or violations of code of conduct.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and practices, all Company policies, rules and government regulations. Must correct or immediately report to supervisor any violations of safety protocols or safety hazards.
  • Performs others duties and tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of general work experience required. Prior grocery store and/or consumer products and commercial driving experience a strong plus.
  • Able to obtain & maintain pallet jack certification.
  • Candidates must meet the satisfactory requirements on their background and drug screen to qualify.
  • Driving record which meets company standards
  • Must handle alcohol and work within T.A.B.C Guidelines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Talk, hear, and see (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus).
  2. Continuous standing and walking, up to 8 hours at a time.
  3. Continuous lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling 20-161 lbs. 
  4. Ability to operate a two or four wheel dolly.
  5. Must be able to push 300 lbs dolly load and move 161 lbs kegs.
  6. Must be able to operate a forklift and a pallet jack.
  7. Frequent driving distances between 0-75 miles in one sitting.  
  8. Frequent climbing, pushing, pulling and maneuvering dolly, hand truck, bay roll up doors, straps, curb ramps, truck doors, boxes, cases, kegs, truck gear shift.
