About the job Class A CDL Driver Trainee - Paid Training Program
NIS Express is hiring Class A CDL Driver Trainees in Van Buren, AR. If you have completed 120 or more hours at an accredited CDL school, you qualify for our paid one-on-one training program. No over-the-road experience required.
PAID TRAINING PROGRAM
Our training program is built for new drivers who are serious about starting a long-term career in trucking. Here is what it includes:

  • 3 to 5 weeks of fully paid one-on-one training
  • A dedicated trainer assigned to you personally from day one
  • Real miles, real freight - hands-on training from the start
  • Training topics include:
    • Safe tractor-trailer handling
    • ELD compliance and hours-of-service logging
    • Pre and post-trip vehicle inspections
    • NIS Express dispatch procedures and company policies
  • Supervised evaluations before going solo - you go solo only when you are ready
PAY AND BENEFITS
  • Weekly pay: $1,400 - $1,800 based on experience, route and miles driven
  • Weekly direct deposit

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and in compliance with all DOT regulations
  • Transport no-touch dry van freight - approximately 70% drop and hook
  • Meet delivery appointments and maintain on-time performance
  • Keep accurate ELD logs, DVIRs and trip reports
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report issues immediately
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers
REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid Class A CDL license required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Completion of 120 or more hours at an accredited CDL school (drivers with a valid Class A CDL and no OTR experience are also welcome to apply)
  • Acceptable driving record with a focus on safety
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and pre-employment drug screen
