CDL Driver

Starting wage is based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Construction Resources offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits.

The Delivery Truck Driver is primarily responsible for the safe operation of the company's truck with a typical weight capacity of 30,000–55,000 pounds (GVW). This role is responsible for all functions related to the vehicle, including completing pre- and post-trip inspections (DVIR), ensuring materials are properly loaded and secured, delivering materials safely and efficiently to customer locations, and processing all required delivery paperwork.

As business and operational needs require, the Delivery Truck Driver will also provide backup support to warehouse operations, including assisting with material handling, loading and unloading, order preparation, and general warehouse duties.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a heavy-load truck and complete scheduled deliveries to customer locations.
  • Ensure all materials are properly secured at the beginning of the shift and continuously monitored after each delivery.
  • Ensure all customer supporting paperwork is completed and returned at the end of each shift.
  • Collect, document, and properly secure money received to ensure alignment with customer paperwork.
  • Report any issues or incidents related to material damage or customer matters to dispatch.
  • Perform and document daily truck inspections, including pre- and post-trip inspections (DVIR).
  • Perform and document inspections to ensure the truck and equipment are maintained in good operating condition.
  • Seek advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from the supervisor.
  • Provide backup support to warehouse operations as needed, including loading and unloading materials, preparing orders, staging products, and assisting with general material handling duties.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment, as trained and authorized.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment when supporting warehouse operations.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of truck driving experience with a proven track record of safe driving.
  • Possession of a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Proficient in driving manual transmission trucks.
  • Capability to operate a liftgate.
  • Proficiency in operating an electric pallet jack.
  • Experience handling commercial and residential deliveries.
  • Ability to service all regional distribution centers.
  • Ability to perform material handling and warehouse duties as operational needs require.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel is required for this position.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of forklift experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of truck driving experience with a proven track record of safe driving.
