Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated CDL Class A or B Tender Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will operate specialized trucks designed for delivering and supporting various freight types, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of materials to designated locations while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with diverse truck types, and a commitment to excellent service.

Work Schedule:

Daytime shift:

  • Hours of operation will range from 5:00 am – 8:00 pm and are subject to change
  • Overtime and weekends may be required

Brief Summary of Job:

  • Operate tender truck and safely transport fertilizer chemicals from loading facility to the field of application
  • Assist with loading of trucks and application equipment – hose hook up appropriate equipment at the location or in the field.
  • Run PTO driven pumps to operate auger/conveyor.
  • Open/close hopper doors to allow product flow.
  • Accountable for maintenance and professional appearance of equipment and facilities
  • Performs and records daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment by conducting pre-trip inspections, such as checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights, and brakes.
  • Follows the preventative maintenance program and maintains a clean truck to present a professional appearance
  • Ensures that all deliveries and pickups are made in accordance with time schedules and performs duties in a manner that promotes superior customer service and professionalism within the company and the industry
  • Completes necessary paperwork, including accurate logbooks, records of cargo and any other assigned recordkeeping duties daily

Skills

  • Commercial Driver’s License REQUIRED. (Class B CDL and/or Class A CDL)
  • Air brakes, tanker, and HAZMAT endorsements
  • Must be certified to drive a manual transmission
  • No more than one chargeable accident within the last three years
  • No more than one moving violation ticket in the last three years
  • No convictions of D.U.I., D.U.S., or open container in the last 7 years
  • No conviction for unlawful use, possession, or distribution of a controlled substance
  • No positive controlled substance/alcohol tests from prior employer
  • Ability to follow directions and use logical thought process to interpret oral and written instructions, and troubleshoot problems
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekend, holidays and/or alternate shifts as needed and be on-call as business conditions warrant
  • Good sense of direction or ability to navigate the surrounding area/roads/fields/farms

Physical Demands:

  • Considerable physical exertion
  • Ability to lift 50 – 70 lbs.
  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.) and noisy conditions
  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
