MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - REVIEW FIRST
CDL Class B with Passenger (P) endorsement
3+ years of professional commercial passenger-driving experience
Mechanical aptitude and vehicle troubleshooting experience
• Air Brake endorsement, as applicable to the vehicle operated
• Minimum age 23; acceptable driving record
• Successful completion of required pre-employment screening
• Ability to comply with DOT drug/alcohol testing and Hours of Service requirements
• Ability to lift/carry up to 75 lbs. and work varied shifts, weekends and holidays
POSITION SUMMARY
Echo Windy City Transportation is a nationwide transportation company seeking an experienced, safety-focused, and customer-service-oriented CDL-B Bus Operator to join our professional transportation team in Broadview, Illinois. The Bus Operator safely operates company passenger vehicles while providing exceptional service to corporate groups, colleges and universities, professional sports organizations, private groups, and other high-profile clients.
This position requires more than simply operating a vehicle. Operators are responsible for safe vehicle operation, exceptional customer service, punctuality, inspections, basic troubleshooting, accurate documentation, and maintaining the professional standards of Echo Windy City Transportation.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Safe Vehicle Operation
• Safely operate CDL Class B passenger vehicles in accordance with company policies, DOT regulations, and applicable requirements.
• Transport passengers safely and professionally under varying traffic, weather, and road conditions.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and identify safety or mechanical concerns.
• Maintain awareness of vehicle condition and promptly report safety, mechanical, or operational concerns.
• Follow established procedures for vehicle operation, fueling, parking, and securing company equipment.
Mechanical Aptitude & Troubleshooting
• Demonstrate basic mechanical knowledge and recognize potential vehicle problems.
• Perform basic troubleshooting when appropriate and within the scope of training and responsibilities.
• Communicate mechanical concerns clearly and accurately to assist Maintenance personnel with diagnosis and repair.
• Maintain vehicles in a clean, orderly, and service-ready condition.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
• Provide professional, courteous, and attentive service to every passenger.
• Represent Echo Windy City Transportation positively with customers, clients, venues, and the public.
• Provide VIP-level service to corporate clients, professional organizations, private groups, and other customers.
• Assist passengers as appropriate while maintaining safety and professionalism.
• Respond appropriately to customer questions, concerns, and requests.
• Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required company uniform.
RELIABILITY & PROFESSIONALISM
• Arrive on time and be prepared for each scheduled assignment.
• Meet established pickup and drop-off schedules and maintain strong time-management skills.
• Accurately review and follow trip instructions, manifests, routes, schedules, and operational documentation.
• Maintain dependable attendance
• Follow company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when transporting high-profile clients or handling sensitive information.
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
Safety is a fundamental responsibility of every Echo Windy City Transportation Bus Operator. Employees are expected to comply with company safety policies, U.S. Department of Transportation regulations, applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requirements, drug and alcohol testing requirements, Hours of Service rules, vehicle inspection and maintenance procedures, and all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening requirements, including drug screening, background screening, and verification of driving qualifications.
SCHEDULE & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to work morning and evening shifts, weekends, holidays, early morning and late-night assignments, and variable or extended schedules based on business needs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and assist with luggage or passenger-related needs as required.
• Ability to enter and exit commercial passenger vehicles repeatedly and sit for extended periods while operating a vehicle.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and respond appropriately to emergency or unexpected situations.
