Location: Chemung & Schuyler Counties, NY
Organization: The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler
Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Available
Reports To: Transportation Director
Join Our Team as a CDL Bus Driver!
Are you a safe, dependable driver who enjoys helping people and making a difference in your community? The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler is looking for a CDL Bus Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for our community. As one of the most visible representatives of our organization, you'll play an important role in creating positive experiences for our passengers every day.
Whether you're an experienced CDL driver or willing to obtain your CDL endorsement, we encourage you to apply!
What You'll Do
  • Safely transport passengers to and from designated locations.
  • Operate assigned vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws and agency policies.
  • Assist passengers as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Follow all safety procedures and utilize required safety equipment.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of:
    • Mileage
    • Fuel consumption
    • Passenger ridership totals
  • Report maintenance concerns to the mechanic and Transportation Manager.
  • Report accidents, incidents, or traffic infractions immediately and complete all required documentation.
  • Adhere to all transportation policies, procedures, and driver's manual requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • At least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid New York State Driver's License
  • Safe driving record with a minimum of 3 years of responsible driving history
  • Ability to obtain a Class C Commercial Driver's License (CDL-C) with Passenger Endorsement and a minimum N2 restriction within 45 days of hire
  • Ability to meet all NYS Department of Motor Vehicles Article 19-A requirements
