Job description

Overview
VTG is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to support our client on-site at Fort Belvoir.
What will you do?
  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise network solutions, including LAN, WAN, intranet, extranet, and data communications networks
  • Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning to support Army installation modernization efforts
  • Design and integrate network security measures aligned with DoD standards
  • Evaluate, recommend, and integrate network hardware and software solutions for optimal performance and reliability
  • Serve as a technical lead on integrated project teams, supporting planning, scheduling, and execution activities
  • Participate in contract activities and status meetings with government stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver project documentation, plans, and technical reports to the Government
  • Support the integration of information technologies to improve system effectiveness across the enterprise
  • Maintain availability during core hours (0900-1500) and support on-site operations at Fort Belvoir, as required

Do you have what it takes?
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, engineering, or a related technical field
    Four (4) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • 10+ years of experience as a Lead Engineer or leading projects of similar scope and complexity
  • Meets DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification requirements
  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
    • Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE)
    • Government-approved vendor equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
  • DevOps certification from Cisco, Microsoft, or another industry-recognized provider
  • Prior experience supporting the U.S. Army or other federal agencies
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior military leadership, program managers, and technical teams
