JOB SUMMARY:
- Performs tasks related to the collection of schedule data required to monitor project progress.
- Assists in developing and monitoring schedules, reporting variances per established deadlines.
- Under direct supervision may draft and computerize construction schedules for small routine
- projects. Receives general supervision from skilled specialist. Typically an entry level position.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Assist in the creation, maintenance and updating of budget and resource loaded schedules.
- Assist in developing, reporting on and forecasting schedule information.
- Act as liaison with client on all matters relating to construction plan progress and look-ahead.
- Analyze schedules and generate reports for project supervision and corporate management.
- May attend meetings and site walks with other contractors, client, and site management to review and update project schedules and assist in resolving issues.
- May also assist in managing subcontractor and/or client schedules, as requested, and integrate them into the Company master schedule.
- Calculate material/work quantity requirements (takeoffs); monitor progress, percentage complete per work item.
- Calculate/prepare various comparison reports, charts, and tables for project analysis.
- Assist in analyzing work progress and developing craft productivity reports to document activity requirement per construction schedules.
- May develop schedules for small project under close supervision.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s and/or Project Management’s direction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A four-year construction, engineering or related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:
- Familiarity with scheduling theory and software such as Primavera and MS Project is required. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others is essential.
- Proficiency with standard office software.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with possible exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and all types of weather and temperature conditions. Occasional or frequent air travel with overnight stays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Manual dexterity, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time;
- Occasional climbing stairs / ladders, bending, stooping, reaching, and crouching;
- Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents;
- Lifting and / or exerting of force up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds of lifting / force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of lifting / force constantly to move objects; and
- Frequent driving of motor vehicles.
