Job description

About the Role
• Troubleshoot commercial electrical systems, circuits, relays, starters, disconnects, and power/control wiring.
• Install, wire, start up, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) serving pumps, fans, AHUs, chillers, and HVAC equipment.
• Perform conduit installation, bending, routing, supporting, and troubleshooting for EMT, rigid, PVC, power wiring, and control wiring.
• Diagnose electrical issues using meters, drawings, field testing, and safe troubleshooting practices.
• Support HVAC equipment start-up, retrofit work, service repairs, and controls installation projects.
• Work with controls technicians to verify wiring, point-to-point checkout, sensor/actuator operation, and equipment interlocks.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, panel drawings, control drawings, and mechanical plans.
120/208/480V electrical systems, panels, disconnects, starters, motor controls, VFDs, and control panels.
• HVAC equipment including AHUs, RTUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, fans, VAVs, exhaust fans, and mechanical rooms.
• BAS/controls wiring and devices when needed, including low-voltage circuits, sensors, actuators, DDC controllers, and BACnet devices.
You Should Have
Minimum 5 years of commercial or industrial electrician experience; HVAC equipment experience preferred.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and circuits, including power, controls, relays, starters, safeties, interlocks, and motor circuits.
• Strong VFD experience: installation, wiring, parameter setup, fault diagnosis, commissioning support, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient conduit skills: bending, threading, routing, supporting, and clean installation of EMT, rigid, and PVC.
• Experience with 120/208/480V systems, motor controls, disconnects, starters, transformers, and HVAC power distribution.
• Ability to use multimeters, megger testers, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, control drawings, and mechanical plans. • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, ability to lift 50 lbs, and ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and at heights.
• Added benefit: experience with BAS systems, low-voltage controls, DDC controllers, BACnet, Niagara/Tridium, Schneider, Honeywell, or BAS troubleshooting.
