Summary

The Business Partnering Accounting Analyst is responsible for managing and overseeing all financial operations related to ranch activities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting and efficient tracking of ranch assets, livestock, and production costs. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting skills with an understanding of agricultural operations to support sound financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting
   Maintain accurate general ledger records for ranch operations including creating and posting journal entries.
   Prepare monthly financial statements
   Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and customer invoicing
   Reconcile operational accounts
Cost Tracking & Analysis
   Track and analyze production costs (feed, labor, veterinary, fuel, equipment)
   Monitor livestock inventory values and changes (purchases, sales, deaths, transfers)
   Provide financial insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability
Asset & Inventory Management
   Maintain records of ranch assets (land, equipment, vehicles, livestock)
   Track depreciation and capital expenditures
Systems & Process Improvement
   Improve financial processes and reporting systems
   Collaborate with ranch managers to align operational and financial data

Typical Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Business, or related field

Relevant Experience

3-5+ years of related experience (agriculture/ranching preferred)

Other Information

Working Conditions
   Combination of office-based work and occasional on-site ranch visits
   May require workload fluctuations tied to ranch operations and month end reporting
