Job description

Cimarron is seeking senior-level Electrical Engineers to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel (formerly GBSD) program. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch systems at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND

Sentinel is a vital US Air Force program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground-based leg of the nuclear triad - the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). We invite you to join our team for this phenomenal opportunity in designing the future ICBM. This is an on-site position that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e., every other Friday off), paid overtime, and an outstanding work/life balance

For candidates not local to the Ogden area, a relocation allowance can be provided. Cimarron is offering a $5,000 referral bonus for all full-time hires for this opportunity. Key Duties: Plan and conduct independent electrical engineering work, applying and adapting relevant techniques, procedures, and criteria to medium-sized projects.

Lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of components and processes for electrical generation, transmission, and storage in accordance with Engineering Department Procedures, design standards, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs. Develop conceptual and detailed electrical designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations for the Sentinel project, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and contract requirements. Prepare estimates, staffing plans, schedules, and performance reports; support procurement by developing scopes of work and evaluating supplier proposals.

Coordinate with clients, systems engineering, and multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements and resolve design issues. Create new design drawings using AutoCAD, including single-line diagrams, panel schedules, schematics, cable block diagrams, grounding, lightning protection, and cathodic protection. Perform power system analysis and calculations using ETAP, including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination, arc flash, lighting design (AGI 32), ground grid sizing, and cable thermal de-rating.

Size and specify electrical equipment such as transformers, panelboards, surge protective devices, UPS systems, and batteries; perform circuit breaker and cable sizing per NFPA 70. Develop equipment and material specifications using SpecsIntact; review vendor submittals and integrate information into the design. Mentor junior engineers and coordinate deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance.Required Skills, Experience, and Education: Due to facility security requirements, only U.S

citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. Ability to obtain a Secret clearance in a reasonable timeframe. This position requires access to federal facilities.

Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. Relevant experience developing drawings, calculations, and specifications for electrical systems and equipment in nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building electrical systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other common software tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to effectively use engineering and office automation tools. Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards. Broad understanding of electrical engineering design principles.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems as they relate to the responsibilities listed above. Solid understanding of engineering drawings, systems calculations, equipment sizing, and cable sizing. Proficiency in power systems load modeling and analysis.

6 or more years of relevant work experience. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Desired Skills, Experience, and Education: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the U.S

(Electrical Engineering). Experience working under quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000. Prior experience with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.

Proficiency in SmartPlant 3D for engineering design. Experience performing electrical calculations using ETAP. Understanding of mechanical and process engineering discipline drawings and system calculations as they relate to electrical design requirements.

Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI MasterFormat specifications or using SpecsIntact. Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and the Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG). Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
