Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cathodic Protection Technician to support and expand our cathodic protection service offerings in the Grande Prairie and Fort St. John regions. This role is ideal for a highly independent professional who excels in both technical execution and front-line client engagement. You will play a key role in strengthening existing client relationships while actively contributing to business growth in a rapidly developing market.

Position Details:

  • Anticipated Start Date: May 2026

  • Shift/Rotation: Project dependent

  • Location: Grande Prairie, AB or Fort St. John, BC (area)

  • Position Type: Full-time (with reduced hours during the winter months)


Technical Execution
  • Lead the planning and completion of cathodic protection surveys, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance programs.
  • Interpret data and prepare high-quality reports that clearly communicate system performance, deficiencies, and recommended actions.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and oversight to junior and intermediate technicians.
  • Ensure all work meets industry standards, client expectations, and safety requirements.
 
Client Engagement & Business Development
  • Act as a primary technical contact for clients in the region, providing responsive communication and dependable service.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the cathodic protection service line, including new project leads, expanded scope with existing clients, and emerging regional needs.
  • Support proposal development, scope planning, and pricing with a focus on delivering value-driven solutions.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and confidence in field and office settings.
 
Leadership & Independence
    • Work independently in remote and urban environments, making sound decisions with minimal supervision.
    • Manage project schedules, logistics, and resource planning to ensure efficient execution.
    • Demonstrate strong initiative in both field operations and regional business development.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in cathodic protection field work, including surveys, troubleshooting, and system evaluation

  • NACE/AMPP CP2 certification (minimum)

  • Valid driver’s licence

  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the Grande Prairie / Fort St. John regions, as well as Alberta and BC as required

Core Competencies
    • Strong technical understanding of cathodic protection systems for pipelines, facilities, and tanks

    • Ability to work independently with a high standard of quality and accountability

    • Strong client communication and relationship-building skills

    • Demonstrated aptitude for business development or sales-oriented activities
