Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist for a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated hospital, requiring at least 1 year of cardiac cath lab experience and RCIS or ARRT-R certification.

Details
  • Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab setting
  • Adult and geriatric patient population
  • No IR procedures performed
  • 4x12 or 3x12 day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Will work 2-3 weekends per contract
  • On-call required as needed, rotating with staff and agency, with a dedicated call team
  • No floating within scope required outside standard hospital needs
  • Cerner EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in cardiac cath lab required
  • BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
  • RCIS or ARRT-R certification required (ARRT-R preferred)
  • License required if applicable
  • Experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings required
  • Proficiency with cardiac implant closure devices, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy required
  • Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Experience with equipment setup, scrubbing, and maintaining sterile field required
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE required
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • Must be able to work with middle-aged and older adult patient populations
Additional Information
  • Facility is a 562-bed acute care hospital with Level I trauma designation and Magnet recognition
  • Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including stent placement, angioplasty, and atherectomy
  • Duties include room circulating, scrubbing in to maintain sterile field, and equipment setup
  • Scrubs provided
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
  • Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
  • RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days
  • Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays
  • Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
