Invasive Cardiac Technologist
Schedule
This position involves a schedule of four 10-hour shifts during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 5:30 PM, with 24/7 on-call coverage for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Job Description
The Invasive Cardiac Technologist independently performs imaging procedures and various technical tasks that require sound judgment and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate proper positioning and radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures.
  • Support various departments by performing general radiographic procedures as needed.
  • Ensure an environment that supports aseptic technique and patient safety, incorporating a time-out process during procedures.
  • Administer contrast agents as per assigned protocols under the guidance of the proceduralist.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate concerns.
  • Properly identify patients using two identifiers and adhere to universal protocols when performing procedures.
  • Document patient history and assessments accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Ensure proper coding and tracking of exams, facilitating efficient archiving and interpretation.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field.
  • ARRT Certificate or equivalent in RCIS or RCVIS.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Compliance with PA Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73.
  • Preferred: At least 1 year of experience in a cath lab, with experience assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization cases.
