Position Summary

FS Food Group is seeking a Director of Catering Operations to lead the day-to-day operations, sales, and financial performance of Plate Perfect Catering, our catering division serving the Charlotte region.

Approximately 80% of this role's focus will be dedicated to the leadership and growth of Plate Perfect Catering, FS Food Group's Catering division, with the remaining 20% supporting catering initiatives across the company's restaurant concepts, including EZCater, online ordering platforms, catering systems, and strategic growth initiatives.

Plate Perfect's primary focus is corporate catering, including office catering, business meetings, pharmaceutical events, workplace dining solutions, and large-scale corporate functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong catering operations experience and a proven ability to manage logistics, staffing, client relations, and profitability in a high-volume catering environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Plate Perfect Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, sales, and financial performance
  • Lead catering managers, coordinators, chefs, drivers, and support staff
  • Drive revenue growth and client retention
  • Ensure exceptional execution and customer satisfaction
  • Manage staff, scheduling, production, and logistics

Corporate Catering Operations & Logistics

  • Oversee all delivery logistics and catering execution
  • Manage daily production schedules and delivery schedules
  • Coordinate drivers, delivery personnel, catering staff, and event teams
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and on time performance for all catering orders
  • Manage routing, vehicle utilization, and delivery efficiency
  • Oversee EZCater and online ordering platforms
  • Develop systems to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability
  • Partner with restaurant leadership teams to coordinate production and execution
  • Establish operational standards and accountability throughout the catering process

Financial & Business Performance

  • Manage budgets, forecasting, pricing, and profitability
  • Monitor labor, food cost, and operating expenses
  • Identify opportunities to improve margins and efficiency
  • Develop growth initiatives and strategic partnerships

FS Food Group Catering Initiatives

  • Support catering programs across all FS Food Group concepts
  • Develop operational best practices and systems
  • Identify opportunities to increase catering sales and market share
  • Improve coordination between restaurants and Plate Perfect

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in catering operations, corporate catering, event operations, or food service logistics
  • Experience managing high-volume catering operations
  • Strong understanding of catering logistics, production scheduling, delivery routing, staffing coordination, and event execution
  • Experience managing sales, client relationships, and business development
  • Strong financial management skills including labor, food cost, budgeting, and profitability analysis
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of catering software systems and technology platforms preferred, including Caterease, EZCater, online ordering platforms, CRM systems, and related catering management tools
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for hospitality and business growth

Compensation

Base Salary: $90,000-$110,000

Annual Performance Bonus: Up to $50,000

Bonus Structure

50% based on sales growth, business development initiatives, customer retention, and revenue performance

50% based on profitability, food cost management, labor management, operational execution, and overall financial performance
