Job description

Position Summary

The Key Holder at Catalyst Cannabis Co. is a trusted operational role responsible for opening and

closing the store, maintaining security, supporting daily operations, and ensuring compliance with

Alaska Marijuana Control Office (AMCO) regulations. This position does not carry supervisory

authority over staff but serves as a point of support and accountability during assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations

• Open and close the dispensary according to company security and cash-handling procedures

• Maintain store security, including alarm systems, safes, and controlled access areas

• Ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and customer-ready

• Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs or discrepancies to management

Team Support

• Assist with opening, closing, and shift transition tasks

• Serve as a point of contact for operational or customer issues when management is not on site

• Escalate concerns, incidents, or questions to Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager

Customer Experience

• Deliver knowledgeable, friendly, and compliant customer service

• Assist customers with product education and recommendations

• Help resolve customer concerns in alignment with company policies

Compliance & Cash Handling

• Follow all AMCO regulations and internal SOPs

• Ensure proper ID checks and legal sales limits are followed

• Complete cash handling procedures including drawers, safe drops, and end-of-day counts

• Report any compliance, security, or cash discrepancies immediately to management


Required Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Valid Alaska Marijuana Handler Permit and Food Handler’s Certification

• Retail experience required; cannabis experience preferred

• High level of trustworthiness and attention to detail

• Comfortable with cash handling and security procedures

Physical & Scheduling Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
