Position Summary

Credence has an immediate need for Data Catalog Implementation Specialist who will lead the design, implementation, and integration of an enterprise-grade Data Catalog solution as a core component of the organization's data governance strategy. This role ensures that data assets are discoverable, well-documented, and governed through robust metadata management, lineage tracking, and compliance controls.

The specialist will also develop and execute a comprehensive Implementation Project Plan, ensuring alignment with organizational data governance goals, stakeholder requirements, and federal compliance standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below:

Implementation & Integration

  • Plan, configure, and deploy a data catalog solution that supports requirements for data discovery, lineage, profiling, governance, and metadata management.
  • Ensure full integration with existing data ecosystem, including relational databases, file storage systems, and ETL pipelines.
  • Ensure compatibility and compliance with the tools such as Qlik, Google Looker, SAS Viya, SAP Business Objects, D3, UI5, Streamlit, Cloudera.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and interfaces for catalog access and system interoperability.

Metadata & Governance

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of technical and data assets across organization, including datasets, databases, and all associated metadata.
  • Establish and manage frameworks for technical, business, and operational metadata.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to document and enforce policies governing data quality, privacy, access control, and compliance.
  • Enable automated lineage, impact analysis, and change management for all cataloged data assets.

Testing & DevSecOps Alignment

  • Lead acceptance testing per established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Ensure the solution complies with established DevSecOps standards, security policies, and cloud deployment practices.
  • Implement usage, performance, and quality reports to continually improve catalog value and adoption.

Documentation & Training

  • Develop an Implementation Project Plan outlining scope, approach, milestones, and testing procedures in alignment with the IPT (Integrated Project Team).
  • Provide comprehensive training materials and user documentation, including manuals, FAQs, and onboarding sessions for stakeholders.
  • Deliver visualization tools or flow diagrams to communicate data flow, transformations, and lineage clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related technical discipline (Masterโ€™s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or data architecture.
  • Proven experience implementing enterprise data catalog solutions (e.g., Palantirโ€™s Ontology, DLAs MetaVault, Collibra, Alation, Informatica EDC, Cloudera Data Catalog, or similar).
  • Familiarity with DoD or federal data management environments and compliance practices is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in data cataloging tool Palantirโ€™s Ontology or DLAs MetaVault metadata modeling, and lineage tracing.
  • Palantir Ontology Certified, preferred
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and standards.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and integration methods (ETL/ELT).
  • Experience with APIs and scripting (Python, REST APIs).
  • Working understanding of GovCloud, DevSecOps, and SDLC processes.
  • Familiarity with data standards such as EDI, X12, and MILS.
  • Experience with Qlik, SAS Viya, and other EA2 stack tools is highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities for technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively within IPTs or cross-functional project teams.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, education, certifications, skills, and overall qualifications.
