Position Description
Heavy Equipment Operator:
- Must be able to operate at a High Production speed on the following machines: Bulldozer (up to D6), Excavator (up to CAT 336), Skid Steer, Mini-Ex, Haul Truck, Front End Loader, and Rollers. Any Finishing experience is welcome.
- Create level surfaces, grade slopes to specifications, remove material and thoroughly fill voids using plans or our survey team for guidance.
- Maintain equipment in proper operating condition by performing simple preventive maintenance tasks and/or making minor repairs as required.
- Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure that it is in proper operating condition.
- Work with the Superintendent or Foreman to help ensure that work is flowing smoothly throughout the day.
- Help the Superintendents and Foreman identify areas needing improvement in our production processes.
- Perform general labor as needed.
- Attend trainings and safety meetings
- Store and clean machinery at its designated location and note any deficiencies
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES :

- Familiar with staking and checking grade
- Detail-oriented with the ability to process information quickly and accurately
- Takes direction well and strives to increase knowledge and ability on given machines.
- Must know the consistency of material and understand compaction techniques

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have the ability to work extended hours as required by the workload.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in all types of terrain
- Able to meet all physical requirements such as standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting 50 pound or more.
- Ability to work around loud noises and can tolerate being exposed to odors, gasses, dust, etc.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, and in excavated areas.
