Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Auditorium/PAC Manager oversees the management of the Auditorium and Performing Arts Center.  He/she works with the Activities Director to coordinate facility usage, review event set-up requests, purchase equipment, send equipment to be repaired, submit receipts after verifying delivery, and manage the budget.  He/she coordinates with maintenance to ensure that the facilities are safe and in compliance with all levels of governmental regulations. This individual is responsible for the curtain and providing/hanging/programming sound and lighting equipment for events scheduled in the Auditorium or PAC.  The manager supervises the events and provides opportunities for student technicians to gain experience relating to the preparation, performance, care, and troubleshooting of equipment for managing a variety of events.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate with the director regarding the set design, properties, and costumes before any items are ordered and/or purchased
  • Research and submit production supplies and services quotes as needed for specific productions
  • Have a budget meeting with the Activities Director prior to the pre-production meeting and before verbally offering a monetary amount for special contractual service providers
  • Oversee and coordinate special contractual service providers
  • Order supplies and/or submit Purchase Order requests to the Activities Director
  • Manage all production paperwork and production specific needs
  • Develop, distribute, and post a technical schedule to the technical crew and the Activities Director
  • Design and build the production set
  • Design and program lighting cues
  • Design and/or coordinate production sound needs and/or music
  • Design and/or coordinate production video needs and/or projections
  • Supervise the technical crew during construction and before/after rehearsal
  • Supervise actors during and before/after rehearsals/performances
  • Clean up the facility after each meeting, workday, and performance
  • Secure the facilities after each meeting, workday, and performance so no student has access
  • Manage the costumes and properties inventory in the mezzanine
  • Submit all receipts for processing after verifying delivery
  • Submit a cast list/program to the Thespian sponsor to verify hours for cast and crew
  • Drive, load/unload, backup, and park a Penske Truck with a lift (no larger than 26')
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:       Technical Theatre Degree-Design and Technology

WORK CALENDAR:    12-month, 260-day position

SALARY:                    Commensurate with education and experience
