Job description

Ebels Hardware in Falmouth is looking for a Full-Time Cashier. Cashiers are an important part of providing a positive experience for our customers. Each cashier interacts directly with customers as they complete their purchases and helps ensure they leave with a positive impression of our store. Cashiers provide fast, friendly, and accurate checkout service while assisting customers with questions and directing them to the appropriate department when needed. Cashiers may also assist with stocking, cleaning, organizing merchandise, and other duties throughout the store.

Compensation for this position ranges from $15.00 to $18.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
  • Answer phones and assist with vendor ordering as needed.
  • Accurately operate the POS system, process cash, checks, credit cards, and other forms of payment, manage cash accurately, and process returns and exchanges according to company policies. Assist customers with locating merchandise and answering basic questions.
  • Keep checkout areas clean, organized, and well stocked.
  • Return merchandise to the appropriate location.
  • Assist with stocking shelves and receiving merchandise as needed.
  • Assist with general cleaning duties throughout the store.
  • Help maintain a neat and welcoming store environment.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
