Rural King is seeking a Cashier to provide friendly, accurate, and efficient service while creating a positive customer experience. This role processes transactions, assists customers, promotes company programs, follows cash-handling procedures, and supports a clean and organized front end.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Customer Service & Transactions

  • Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
  • Process cash, credit, debit, and other transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow company procedures for cash handling, returns, exchanges, layaways, and price disputes.
  • Answer customer questions and provide basic product information.
  • Educate customers about the Rural King Loyalty Program, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan (RKPPP).
  • Respond to store calls using professional phone etiquette.
  • Coordinate with loaders and associates to promptly address customer needs.

Front-End Operations

  • Reconcile registers, complete required paperwork, and maintain accurate records.
  • Deactivate EAS devices and spider wraps as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings to help prevent loss and reduce shrink.
  • Keep checkout areas, shopping carts, restrooms, and customer service areas clean and stocked.
  • Participate in cross-training and support other store departments as needed.
  • Use POS systems, computers, telephones, and other office equipment.

Teamwork & Development

  • Work collaboratively with store associates to provide a consistent customer experience.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities and assist with training new Cashiers as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Customer service or retail experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable using computers, POS systems, and other technology.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash and process transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Ability to remain positive, professional, and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable, proactive, and willing to learn.
Qualifications

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently.
  • Ability to navigate and access all required store facilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
  • Close vision required for computer-related activities
