Job description

As a Cashier Associate at Mountain Hardware and Sports, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while efficiently processing transactions at the cash register. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate the point-of-sale system to process transactions, handle cash/credit accurately, provide receipts, and process refunds or changes in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe checkout area, restock supplies, and ensure promotional displays and signage are properly displayed
  • Utilize computers and technology-based equipment as needed, prioritize tasks, and ensure efficient, accurate completion of responsibilities
  • Greet customers and assist with Home Elements and Décor products and recommendations
  • Provide product knowledge, promote, and sell home décor items, recommending complementary products
  • Set up, maintain, and organize attractive product displays that align with promotions and seasonal trends
  • Process transactions accurately, handle special-order requests, and assist with receiving and stocking merchandise
  • Assist in loading/unloading merchandise and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe department
  • Stay updated on industry trends, use technology-based equipment, and collaborate with team members to meet store goals
Skills and Qualifications
  • Must be able to work in the United States
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Must be at least 16 years or older
  • Ability to use provided computer, programs, and technology-based equipment when needed
  • Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced, confined environment while maintaining focus and efficiency
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs
  • Ability to stand for an extended amount of time

Experience
  • Customer service: 1+ year (preferred)
