Job description

PURPOSE

ย 

The Senior Cash Sales Analyst provides key support to the Accounting Manager and performs general accounting activities. This position is responsible for assisting in the accurate & timely reporting of restaurant sales; reconciling of all cash, credit card and gift card deposits; posting to the general ledger in a multi-unit, high volume environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP; preparing and maintaining accurate restaurant sales processes and procedures; preparation of journal entries; and account reconciliations.

As needed, this position also assists with projects related to the department.

POSITION ACTIVITIES

ย 

  • Assists with final close of company restaurant sales each fiscal week; includes posting cash, over/short and other related information to the general ledger each fiscal period close.
  • Reconciles company restaurant deposits to bank reports; includes cash (daily), credit card (weekly) and gift card deposits (monthly).
  • Supports the smart safe / armor car program for restaurants following up with the vendor/restaurant for issues.
  • Provides credit and gift card support to Marketing and Guest Service Departments.
  • Creates and distributes reports on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Prepares period end and annual journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support the franchise sales close process, as needed.
  • Assist with financial and SOX audit requests.
  • Miscellaneous projects as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREDย 

  • College degree in Finance or Accounting, or 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in General Accounting
  • Strong Excel skills required; intermediate level or higher
  • Intermediate-level experience using Word and Outlook
  • Strong computer software knowledge; technical savvy
  • 10-key by touch a must
  • Knowledge of GAAP & SOX
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with professional demeanor
  • Strong planning, organizational, decision-making, interpersonal, analytical & lateral thinking skills
  • Detail, result and deadline oriented with ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Independent self-starter with a can-do attitude
  • Flexibility in adapting to rapidly changing priorities
  • Willingness to learn and take on new assignments
