Job description

CASH AND OFFICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER 
***The successful candidate should expect to be scheduled 40 hours/week including at least 1 weekend and one closing shift per week***
The Cash and Office Manager is responsible for all cash and administrative related duties within the store.  they take responsibility for fostering culture, advancing Nature's Fare values, and championing engagement in all its forms within the Cash Department.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Managing Team Members

  • Effectively manages all Team Members within the department.
  • Provides timely documentation to Human Resources on notable interactions and/or concerns.
  • Clearly communicates with relevant leaders to provide updates on Team Member performance.
  • Supports and manages all areas of the employee lifecycle, including but not limited to:
Recruitment & Onboarding
    • Actively participates in screening applicants, conducting interviews, administering reference checks, and selecting successful candidates.
    • Takes ownership of the employee onboarding process and ensures LMS documents are successfully completed.
Training & Development
    • Ensures that all department staff are trained using Nature’s Fare Markets training material, maintaining a timely delivery of content as set out in the document’s training schedule.
    • Manages and supports learning and development initiatives, ensuring Team Members are up to date with required trainings.
    • Provides hands-on training and coaching with new and existing Team Members, as needed.
Performance Management
    • Provides continuous coaching, education, and development to new and existing Team Members.
    • Leads coaching conversations with Team Members and applies performance management tools where necessary (i.e. Action Plans, Progressive Discipline, Termination, etc.).
    • Completes probation reviews and submits documentation to Human Resources in a timely fashion. 
Leadership
  • Sets an example for all Cashiers by showing exemplary customer service, strong work ethic, and dedication to the industry.
  • Actively models and promotes excellent customer service standards that creates a positive shopping experience and bolsters customer loyalty.
  • Ensures high levels of engagement within the team in relation to Nature’s Fare mission, values, and culture by supporting corporate initiatives, fostering a culture of creativity, and using internal tools to celebrate Team Members achievements (i.e. ‘Kudos’, etc.).
  • Stays up to date on company policies/procedures and holds Team Members accountable to the rules set out in the documents.

Operations
  • Maintains an active presence on the floor and supports cashiers, as required.
  • Oversees the daily operational activities, delegating and assigning tasks to the team as needed, and ensuring accuracy in transactions and cash handling.
  • Oversees and manages all front-of-house and back-of-house procedures and processes including:
    • Directing Cashiers on proper cash procedures and customer service expectations.
    • Ensuring all back-office cash management requirements are completed accurately and in accordance with Nature’s Fare Markets cash operating procedures.
    • Investigating and resolving issues related to back-office cash transactions.
    • Ensuring item/batch administration is completed in accordance with Corporate Purchasing instructions.
    • Maintaining label and signage requirements, as needed.
    • Overseeing other administrative duties in conjunction with Store Management.
  • Provides feedback on opportunities to improve efficiency or security of cash/cash procedures. 
  • Monitors the flow of customers to make sure excessive line ups are not forming.
  • Monitors prize draw process, as well as the lost and found.
  • Supports merchandising initiatives at the front end to promote sales and creates a visibly appealing layout.
  • Suggests new items to Corporate Purchasing based on customer requests, trends, or personal experience.
