The Scheduler is responsible for planning, development and coordination of the project schedule, including tracking issues, analyzing data and providing reports to key stakeholders and clients.    

Main Responsibilities

•    Ensure adherence to Project Safety policies.
•    Develop, maintain, and control the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) covering multiple work packages, contractors, and stakeholders.
•    Proactively manage compliance with the approved schedule baseline, budget alignment, and project procedures.
•    Provide expertise in breaking down project revenue and costs into schedule activities, loading them into Primavera P6, and performing earned value management.
•    Perform critical path analysis, float analysis, trend analysis, and “what-if” scenarios.
•    Identify schedule risks, constraints, and opportunities and develop and monitor recovery and mitigation plans.
•    Establish and manage progress measurement methodologies and ensure accurate, timely schedule updates.
•    Prepare and present executive-level schedule reports, dashboards, and narratives highlighting progress, risks, and delays. 
•    Support integration of project data including schedule, cost, estimate, cash flow, earned value, documentation, and performance metrics.
•    Collaborate with commercial and cost control teams to ensure schedule alignment with budget forecasts and change management.
•    Maintain schedule quality and perform regular schedule audits in accordance with DCMA scheduling guidelines.

Requirements

•    Demonstrated understanding of basic engineering and bridge construction concepts, practices, and procedures.
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field from an Accredited Institution. A combination of education and experience will also be considered. 
•    5+ years of experience in project controls and scheduling on large, complex, heavy civil transportation projects (Road & Highways, Buildings, Bridge & Tunnel or Rail & Transit). 
•    Proven experience developing and managing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for multi-package or multi-contractor programs. 
•    Demonstrated expertise reviewing, validating, and integrating contractor schedules.
•    Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Excel & Tilos.
•    Experience working with large schedules with up to 10,000 activities and large excel data sets.
•    Experience with 3D and 4D models is considered strong asset.
•    Professional certifications such as PMP, PSP (AACE), or PMI-SP are considered strong assets.
•    Strong communication skills and ability to identify and resolve complex issues. 
•    Ability to work in a cost effective, customer focused, team-based environment. 
•    Ability to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, steep/ slippery terrain, walking, and working outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather and conditions
