Job description

Darigold is seeking a motivated and dedicated Cash Application Specialist with a passion for accuracy and customer service to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing cash postings and maintaining accurate records for both the Consumer and Ingredients Divisions. The Cash Application Specialist will also be responsible for updating customer information and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve account issues. Additionally, this role will provide backup support across various functions as needed. This is a full-time hourly position.

What You Will Do:
  • Post all deposits daily
  • Resolve unapplied cash transactions consistently
  • Ownership of the collection efforts on assigned accounts in compliance with company policies
  • Review and process manual customer credit and debit memo adjustments
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly reports to sales and customers
  • Secure documentation for audit requests
  • Collaborate with external and internal customers to resolve issues, ensuring a high level of integrity and teamwork
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring top-notch customer service while protecting Darigold's assets
  • Communicate effectively with customers, understanding actionable items and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrate effective listening skills, gather relevant facts, and communicate proposed actions
  • Contribute to problem-solving efforts, sharing responsibility for results, and upholding a high standard of integrity within the team and company

What You Will Bring:
  • Associate's degree in business or a related field is required
  • Experience in the food industry or manufacturing is preferred
  • Knowledge of Oracle is a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cash applications
  • Ability to adapt to various departmental tasks with flexibility
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Background in accounting or accounts reconciliation is preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
