Description:

McMichael Taylor Gray, LLC is currently seeking a Litigation Paralegal for our New York team. The Litigation Paralegal is responsible for the coordination of all the details before, during and after trial. The successful candidate will be able to provide assistance to Attorneys and Management during all phases of the litigation process including legal research, drafting and filing pleadings, and calendaring hearings.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research, and initial case assessments
  • Draft pleadings, motions and appellate documents and file them with the court
  • Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics etc.)
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
  • Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
  • Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
  • Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
  • Provide assistance with case settlements

Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Default Operations industry standards including creditors' rights
  • A minimum of 5 years Litigation Paralegal experience required
  • Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices etc.
  • Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
  • Extensive computer and database expertise including proficiency with Microsoft products
  • Paralegal associates degree or other relevant certification
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner
  • Excellent professional communication skills. Position requires interaction with all interoffice personnel, managers and attorneys as well as the clients and outside vendors.
  • Proficient with MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Teams, and MS Word
  • Well organized, effective time management, prioritize and allocate workload for optimum efficiency
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality
  • Working knowledge of client systems including Black Knight/LPS, Tempo, CaseAware
