Job description

Devereux is seeking an energetic Entry Level Maintenance Technician that is willing to learn some trade skills and basic maintenance knowledge, HVAC, electrical, light construction, safety inspections, OSHA and hospital regulations.

As a Maintenance Technician you will display a thorough understanding of trade skills necessary for operation within the department and Center. 

Some responsibilities will include:


• Maintains equipment and tools in proper working conditions and ensures proper storage. Ensures that time and materials are used in an efficient manner.
• Selects materials required to perform assignment. Improve and requests additional materials as appropriate.
• Completes work order documentation ensuring information is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensures that the work and shop areas are clean and organized. Remains aware of safety regulations in performing work and storage of materials.
• Performs comprehensive maintenance duties including carpentry, electrical work, lawn care, painting, patching/plastering, plumbing, welding, HVAC, and locksmith work.  
• Leads the work of maintenance staff in projects related to area(s) of technical expertise.
• Under the direction of supervisor acquires proper materials. Identifies needs and recommends alternative solutions.
• Annual training and certifications remain up to date and complete.

Starting rate - $20-24/hr

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Georgia was established in Cobb County Georgia in 1973 at the invitation of Governor Jimmy Carter and for more than 40 years has been providing new hopes, new dreams, and new choices for children, adolescents and young adults struggling with emotional and behavioral health challenges. Located in Kennesaw, GA, this position is responsible for performing general maintenance duties to provide for the safety and upkeep of the center and building grounds.

Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse to occur in our organization. Devereux fosters a culture of reporting abuse, and will cooperate with the authorities to the fullest extent possible.

* For your protection, all maintenance personnel will be fit-tested for the N95 mask. An N95 mask will be worn when working with children with infections. A medical evaluation will be completed, unless exempt under the standards.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must possess current, valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of (1) year of experience performing semi-skilled maintenance and repair work involving; carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm, locksmith, mechanics and general trades.
  • Be flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and embrace our mission of Servant Leadership!

  • Complete an extensive 2 week training program (paid) from 8:30-5:30pm on our campus in Kennesaw
