Job description

Phoenix Customs is a 5-star custom fabrication and restoration shop in Mapleton, Utah. We mainly work on pre 80's non computerized cars. Although we do, do a fair share of LS and modern engine swaps. Our builds range from simple body repairs to ground up builds. 

We are looking for a skilled Paint & Body Technician to maintain and repair vehicles. You will be responsible for priming, painting, cutting and buffing the cars in the shop. Also a plus would be some background in repairing dented panels with minimal filler, spreading and sanding body filler to get the cars ready for primer. Must be willing to learn new skills and to become well rounded in all aspects of body and paint work.
Responsibilities:
  • Mask the cars up for priming
  • Spray primers and base/clear paints
  • Color sand and buff the final paint jobs for a show quality finish
  • Black sand primers and filler to make the cars straight
  • Be able to align sheet metal
  • Metal straighten dented panels with minimal filler
  • Reassemble complete vehicles
  • Keep logs of the work performed daily and any issues
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
  • Pay is dependent on experience
Qualifications:
  • Proven 5+ years of experience as a paint & body technician
  • Must have own tools
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
  • Must be willing to learn new skills that apply to full restorations
