Job description

Xpedient Logistics is a full-service third-party logistics provider. We support a diverse client base through warehousing, transportation management, supply chain management, order fulfillment, and workforce solutions.

Shift: 6:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
Overtime: Additional hours may be required based on operational needs.

Position Summary

The Equipment Operator III supports warehouse operations by safely and efficiently moving, picking, and storing furniture and other products using powered industrial equipment. The primary responsibility of this position is to use an order picker, also known as a cherry picker, to retrieve and put away furniture in designated warehouse locations. The employee must be able to consistently lift, handle, and reposition items weighing up to 50 pounds.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating an order picker or cherry picker and using an RF scanner to manage inventory. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate inventory and ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently operate powered industrial equipment, primarily an order picker or cherry picker.
  • Use an order picker to retrieve, transport, and put away furniture in designated warehouse storage locations.
  • Consistently lift, carry, push, pull, and reposition furniture and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Pick products from warehouse racking systems and transport them to staging or shipping areas.
  • Put away inbound furniture and other products by moving items from receiving areas to assigned storage locations.
  • Accurately scan, pick, and put away inventory using an RF gun or handheld scanner.
  • Follow warehouse location plans and inventory procedures to ensure accurate product placement and tracking.
  • Verify product quantities, item numbers, and storage locations before completing transactions.
  • Securely handle furniture to minimize damage during picking, transportation, and put-away activities.
  • Perform daily pre-use equipment inspections and report safety or maintenance concerns immediately.
  • Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and product-location verification as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow all company policies, operating procedures, safety requirements, and applicable OSHA standards.
  • Complete other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience operating an order picker, cherry picker, or similar powered industrial equipment required.
  • Experience handling or storing furniture, large products, or bulky inventory preferred.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and RF scanning technology.
  • Ability to consistently lift and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely work at elevated heights while operating an order picker.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling and recording inventory.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work the scheduled shift and additional hours, weekends, or overtime as required.
  • Current powered industrial truck certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment preferred.
Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to:

  • Consistently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently push, pull, bend, reach, twist, and squat.
  • Safely handle furniture and other bulky or irregularly shaped items.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Work at elevated heights while secured on an order picker or cherry picker.
  • Perform repetitive lifting, scanning, picking, and put-away activities throughout the shift.
Safety Responsibilities
  • Observe and follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Follow equipment operating instructions and company safety policies.
  • Complete required equipment inspections before use.
  • Immediately report equipment damage, unsafe conditions, injuries, and safety incidents.
  • Use required personal protective equipment.
  • Follow established procedures when working at elevated heights.
  • Assist management with maintaining warehouse safety standards and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records when assigned responsibility for documenting safety incidents.
  • Help maintain the warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
