Resumen del Puesto
El Carpintero construye, instala y desmonta cimbras (encofrados) de concreto y estructuras relacionadas para puentes, muros de contención, alcantarillas, cimentaciones y otros proyectos de infraestructura de construcción civil pesada. El Carpintero trabaja a partir de planos y especificaciones para garantizar la calidad y precisión del trabajo terminado.
Funciones y Responsabilidades Esenciales
  • Construir, instalar y desmontar cimbras (encofrados) de concreto para puentes, muros, columnas, zapatas, losas y otras estructuras.
  • Leer e interpretar dibujos de construcción, planos y especificaciones.
  • Medir, cortar y ensamblar madera, acero y otros materiales utilizados en los encofrados.
  • Instalar insertos, pernos de anclaje, chaflanes, bloqueos y otros componentes de cimbra.
  • Ayudar en las operaciones de colocación, acabado y curado del concreto.
  • Construir y mantener estructuras temporales, plataformas de trabajo y apuntalamientos.
  • Verificar dimensiones, niveles y elevaciones.
  • Coordinar actividades con supervisores de campo, operadores y obreros.
  • Mantener las herramientas y equipos en condiciones seguras de operación.

Position Summary
The Carpenter constructs, installs, and removes concrete forms and related structures for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, foundations, and other heavy civil infrastructure projects. The Carpenter works from plans and specifications to ensure quality and accuracy of completed work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Construct, erect, and remove concrete forms for bridges, walls, columns, footings, decks, and other structures.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble wood, steel, and other forming materials.
  • Install embeds, anchor bolts, chamfers, blockouts, and other formwork components.
  • Assist with concrete placement, finishing, and curing operations.
  • Build and maintain temporary structures, work platforms, and falsework.
  • Verify dimensions, grades, and elevations.
  • Coordinate activities with field supervisors, operators, and laborers.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and company policies.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of heavy civil or concrete formwork experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Proficiency with construction hand tools and power tools.
  • Strong understanding of concrete forming techniques.
  • Ability to work at heights and around active construction operations.
