Job description

The OBrien Interiors Group Project Manager facilitates the successful completion of projects by managing and collaborating with key field staff throughout each project. The Project Manager is responsible for guiding and directing field operations teams in workforce management, the efficient utilization of equipment, and identifying new and creative ways to accomplish work safely.

The Project Manager performs a variety of duties, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Managing field operations, including budget and job costing functions.
  • Acting as a point of contact for site superintendents to continually build and maintain a collaborative relationship.
  • Communicating key Company objectives and targets to site superintendents and crews.
  • Managing resources, including procurement and purchasing, to ensure availability of materials, equipment, and manpower.
  • Supervising and coordinating the needs of the workforce across jobsites aligning with schedule and budget.
  • Monitoring equipment needs and utilization of each job to ensure crews are provided with necessary equipment and materials while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
  • Continually expanding knowledge and use of industry best practices, technology, and innovation.
  • Solving problems as they arise by using available knowledge and resources.
  • Collaborating with superintendents and key employees to identify more effective and efficient ways to complete operations.
  • Assist with facilitating and leading periodic Foreman meetings.
  • Partnering with Safety in ensuring safe work practices, compliance with all Federal and State safety rules, and managing safety risk at all levels.
  • Assist with the identification and mentorship of the next generation of field leadership, including foremen.
  • Communicating and upholding the Companys commitment to core values, Integrity, and Code of Ethics, as well as ensuring the same for the entire team.
  • All Other Duties as Assigned.

Qualifications & Abilities

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience and knowledge of construction projects.
  • Possess a valid State of Michigan drivers license.
  • Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible management style.
  • Proven communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and safe work practices.
  • High proficiency with Procore (recommended).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Works in the field and in an office setting on a regular basis.
  • Requires ability to sit or stand for an extended period.
  • Field work includes but is not limited to exposure to the elements, loud noises, uneven ground, and potentially unsafe conditions.
  • PPE is required to be worn during construction site visits.

Classification & Compensation

  • The position is full-time, salaried, and exempt from FLSA overtime requirements.
  • The salary range varies, depending on experience, skills, abilities, and length of service with the Company.
  • The position is eligible for benefits as stated in the Company handbook.
