Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Trim Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in precision carpentry and is capable of installing doors, windows, trim, flooring, molding, cabinetry, countertops, and more across commercial, residential, and industrial project environments. This role requires advanced craftsmanship, the ability to interpret complex blueprints, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
This list includes key responsibilities but is not exhaustive.
Trim Installation
  • Install, measure, cut, and adjust all interior and exterior wood doors, including associated trim.
  • Install and adjust metal doors, knockdown frames, and related trim.
  • Install exterior windows, manufacturer sills, and related trim.
  • Measure, cut, and install chair rail, baseboard, shoe, casing, and crown molding with precision.

Cabinetry & Countertops
  • Layout, design, and install cabinets and vanities.
  • Layout, scribe, and install countertops with expert accuracy.

General Responsibilities
  • Perform additional skilled carpentry duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient worksite.
  • Ensure all work meets Tactical Construction's quality standards.

  • Demonstrate mastery of all assigned tasks with a strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment, correcting or reporting hazards promptly.
  • Arrive on time, ready to work, and prepared with proper tools and PPE.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of professional trim carpentry experience (commercial experience strongly preferred).
  • High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Preferred certifications: fall protection, lull/class 7, boom/man lift.
  • Ability to interpret and follow cabinet drawings, blueprints, and architectural layouts.
  • Advanced critical-thinking skills to identify discrepancies between plans and field conditions.
  • Must own and maintain required PPE and hand tools.
  • Proficiency with all relevant hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with site personnel.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must meet company and insurance driving requirements if operating a company vehicle.
  • Strong motivation, craftsmanship, and pride in work.
  • Ability to operate a smart device for timekeeping and communication.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. and of legal working age in New York.

Physical Demands
The position requires the ability to:

Work Schedule
