Description:
Stewart's Shops is investing in the growth and renovations of our new and existing stores. Our construction crew is looking for multi-skilled and self-motivated individuals to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with a team and is committed to safety and quality work. A successful crew member is willing to learn new skills and take on additional tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Perform various construction tasks including:
- Carpentry (framing, sheetrock, taping and drop ceilings)
- Drywall finishing and painting
- Ceramic floor tile repair
- Composite siding and trim
- Electrical, plumbing and masonry work (basic awareness needed)
• Operate equipment and construction tools including jackhammer, drills, saws, nail guns, etc.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with construction crew peers to complete projects in a timely manner.
• Adhere to safety protocols while preforming all tasks with self, coworkers, and customers in mind.
• Collaborate and manage contracted trades to complete projects in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and safe construction site.
Requirements:
• Experience with the above construction duties.
• Ability to follow instructions as well as problem solve to find solutions.
• Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks efficiently.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting 70-90lbs on a regular basis.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate demands of projects that may warrant out of town travel and overnight stays, along with occasional night work (additional compensation provided).
• Willingness to be on-call 2 - 3 times per year (weekly shifts).
• Clean driving record.
