Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop skill interpersonal communication.
• Continue developing knowledge of architectural applications.
• Learn and understand methods and techniques of storing equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Learn principles and procedures of record keeping.
• Develop the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work.
• Learn how to study specification in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine
dimensions and materials required.
• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk and marking gauge.
• Perform semi-skilled carpentry work, such as repairing and constructing all aspects of architectural building.
• Assist with the assembling of pre-cut and pre-fabricated wooden or steel parts to form complete units.
• Assist with constructing, erecting, installing and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, steel, and wallboard, and
conform to local building codes.
• Develop ability to build rough wooden structures such as concrete forms, tunnels, sewer supports, and temporary
shelters.
• Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures, and repair or replace. Develop the skill to operate a
variety of hand and power tools and shop machinery in conjunction with proper training.
• Fill cracks and other defects in plaster or plasterboard and sand patch, using patching plaster, trowel and sanding
tools.
• Assist with finishing surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses and buildings, using paint, other finishes, tools and
paneling.
