Job # 22138   Position:       HVAC Technician       
Location:      Eden Support Center      
Hours:           6 AM - 2 PM

  Closing Date:    Until Filled                                                                         Reports To:  Supervisor of Facilities and Facilities Managers               Basic Function:  Primarily will perform minor and major repairs and preventative maintenance related to HVAC.  Will also perform duties related to plumbing as needed and or assigned. Duties include but are not limited to the repair and or replacement of Boilers, Chillers, RTUs, AHUs, MAUs, split pack units, compressors, controls, ductwork, dampers, charging units, and associated plumbing and electrical labor to complete tasks.
Qualifications:

  • Apprenticeship preparation required or have worked in their demonstrated skill with a reputable firm.
  • Must hold a journeyman certificate. The candidate will be considered if enrolled in an apprenticeship to obtain certificaiton.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the tasks in their specific craft.
  • Apprenticeship preparation preferred or have worked in their demonstrated skill with a reputable firm.
  • Physical ability to perform the above duties.
  • Three years' experience is preferred.

HVAC Technician
Characteristic Duties:

  • Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance related to their demonstrated craft skill.
  • Participate in maintenance operations other than their demonstrated skill when needed.
  • Handle maintenance requests as assigned by the supervisor or his designee and paperwork involved in the completion of assignments such as inspection reports, long-range maintenance proposals, estimates, and receipts.
  • Responsible for layout and leadership on complex maintenance projects requiring subordinate maintenance personnel.
  • Shows leadership ability as well as capability to instruct others in the demonstrated craft skill.
  • Operates equipment as required.
  • Other additional duties as assigned can include but are not limited to plumbing, carpentry, electrical, grounds maintenance, and duties related to snow removal.
